Radiology / Imaging
A number of services are available at the Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center for your convenience, including radiology, MRI, bone densitometry, neurodiagnostics and ultrasound.
Radiology Services (Diagnostic Imaging)
The Crystal Clinic Orthopaedic Center offers imaging services for your convenience. On-site X-ray equipment helps our physicians to immediately diagnose and plan treatment, and it eliminates the need to schedule an appointment at an outside facility.
Our radiologic technologists are ARRT- and State of Ohio-licensed.
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
An MRI is a non-invasive way to obtain information of internal structures such as tendons and muscles, as well as hard tissue structures such as bone. Images are obtained with the use of a safe magnetic field, radio waves and a computer. No radiation is involved.

Bone densitometry (DXA)
Physicians use bone densitometry to help identify bone weakening before it breaks, identify your risk of a fracture (broken bone) and identify osteoporosis if you have had a previous broken bone (fracture). It is a painless, non-invasive procedure that usually takes about 15 to 30 minutes.
Testing can be scheduled within 24 hours.
DXA uses a minimal amount of radiation to produce images of the spine and hip area. Medicare reimburses for a DXA scan every two years and recommends the test for all women age 65 and older and men age 70 and older. Physicians also recommend a DXA scan for individuals, including menopausal women, who present with fractures, estrogen-deficient women at clinical risk for osteoporosis, and individuals with vertebral abnormalities. Also, individuals with a history of eating disorders/gastric surgery or with a history of multiple fractures are recommended for a DXA scan.
Please call (330) 668-4040 or toll-free (800) 662-4043 to schedule a DXA scan in Montrose.
